Getting the pool ready
The crew neutralized the chlorine before draining, then lowered the pool about 1,000 gallons to get below the skimmer.
Digging out the old skimmer
They cut out the deck around the skimmer and dug down to the suction line and the return line beside it, then removed the old skimmer.
New skimmer, new plumbing
The new skimmer was set level and re-plumbed to the suction line. The crew packed the gap between the skimmer and the pool wall with hydraulic cement so the throat seals tight.
Backfill and deck patch
After backfilling, the crew poured a concrete patch around the new skimmer lid. The pool was ready to fill the next day.
