Draining below the skimmer
The crew lowered the water just below the skimmer, about 1,000 gallons, so they could work on the throat dry.
Opening the throat
They cut out the old skimmer throat, where the skimmer meets the pool wall. This is a common leak spot because the joint between the skimmer and the shell moves over time.
Sealing and rebuilding
The crew sealed and rebuilt the throat with hydraulic cement, then finished it with a coat of plaster to match the pool.
Refilling
After cleaning up the job site, the pool was ready to fill the next day.
