Professional pool leak detection and repair in Babcock Ranch

Babcock Ranch is a newer master-planned town, so most pools here are only a few years old. New pools can still leak, usually at fittings, skimmer connections or plumbing that settled after the deck was poured.

If your pool is still under a builder warranty, our leak detection report documents exactly where the leak is, which helps when you file a claim.

Pool services in Babcock Ranch

Why pools leak in Babcock Ranch

Babcock Ranch pools are new, but new pools still leak. The most common causes we see in new construction are fittings that were not fully sealed, skimmer connections that separated as the deck settled, and plumbing that moved when fresh fill compacted around the pool.

How we find leaks on Babcock Ranch pools

We plumbing test every line, dye test the skimmer, returns, lights and main drains, and document exactly where the water is going. That report is useful if the pool is still under a builder warranty.

Recent job: a leak under the deck at a sheer descent

Many Babcock Ranch pools have sheer descents, the thin waterfalls that pour from the deck into the pool. On this pool, the suction side passed the plumbing test, but the return side failed, and sheer descents run on return lines under the deck.

Our leak tech listened along the deck and could hear the leak under the far right sheer descent in the deep end. Finding it that precisely means only that part of the deck has to be opened for the repair. We also noted broken ball valves at the equipment pad.

The repair: a new sheer descent, set back in place

Our repair crew opened the deck only at the spot the leak tech marked. Behind the far right sheer descent they exposed the return line where it connects to the back of the unit, right where the leak had been heard.

We removed the old sheer descent, installed a new one on new plumbing, and checked it with a level so the water sheets evenly across the full width. The pavers and coping were then reset around it. Because the leak was pinpointed first, the rest of the deck was never touched.

Babcock Ranch pool leak questions

Can a brand new pool leak?

Yes. New pools can leak at fittings, skimmer connections or plumbing that moved as the ground settled. A leak detection pinpoints the source.

Will your report help with a builder warranty claim?

Our report shows where the leak is and what was tested. Many owners share it with their builder.

How much does pool leak detection cost?

Pro Pool Team leak detection starts at $295. Price depends on pool size, features such as spas and water features, and how complex the plumbing is. Larger or more complex pools can cost more. You get a written report, and if we do the repair, we take 5% off the repair quote, up to the cost of your leak detection.

How much water loss is normal for a pool in Florida?

Evaporation in Southwest Florida usually runs about 1/8 to 1/4 inch per day, depending on sun, wind and heat. If your pool drops more than that, or your service tech keeps adding salt and stabilizer, you likely have a leak.

Does a pool leak detection company need a Florida license?

Yes. In Florida, removing main drain covers and pool lights for testing requires a state pool contractor license, and the license number starts with CPC. A complete leak detection checks the drains and lights. Pro Pool Team holds license CPC1460553. You can verify any contractor on the Florida DBPR license lookup.
