Sheer descent leak detection in Babcock Ranch

A newer Babcock Ranch pool was losing water. The return side failed the plumbing test, and our leak tech traced it to the line feeding one of the sheer descent water features, under the deck.

At the equipment

The equipment pad had broken ball valves, which we noted for repair. They weren't the cause of the water loss.

Testing the plumbing

The suction side passed, but the return side failed. Sheer descents, the thin waterfalls that pour from the edge of the deck, run on return lines under the deck, so they were the next thing to check.

Listening for the leak

Our leak tech listened along the deck and could hear the leak under the deck at the far right sheer descent in the deep end. Marking the spot this way means only that part of the deck needs to be opened for the repair. See how we repair underground pool plumbing.

Nothing else leaking

We found no other leaks and no other areas of concern. The equipment was running and primed when we left.
