Getting the pool ready
The crew neutralized the chlorine before draining and sent the water to the side yard, away from the golf course. They lowered the pool about 750 gallons, to roughly 3 inches below the skimmer throat.
Removing the old skimmer
The crew cut out the old skimmer and the skimmer throat, opening the area down to the suction and overflow lines. They prepared the back of the pool shell so the new skimmer would sit tight against it.
Setting the new skimmer
The new skimmer was mounted level, plumbed back into the suction and overflow lines, and bonded to the back of the pool shell.
Re-plumbing the suction manifold
The valves at the equipment were all broken and brittle, so the crew removed the old suction manifold and plumbed in a new one.
Refilling the pool
When the work was done, the auto-fill was turned on to bring the pool back up to level.
