A clean dye test
Our tech dye tested the whole pool and spa and found nothing leaking in the shell, the tile or the fittings. The return side of the plumbing passed its test. The suction side failed.
The broken spa main drain pipe
The leak is in the spa main drain line, right where the pipe connects to the main drain sump under the spa floor. A break at the sump needs a proper repair to stop the water loss. See how we repair main drain leaks.
A valve that lets the spa drain into the pool
At the equipment, the spa main drain valve was letting water flow back from the spa into the pool when the pump was off, even with the valve closed. It does not leak water out of the pool, but the valve needs servicing so the spa holds its level.
Old epoxy at both lights
We also found old epoxy in and around both the pool light and the spa light. They were not leaking during the test, so we listed them as optional on the quote. The pool will keep losing water until the main drain line is repaired.
