Draining the spa
The crew put the control panel in service mode so nothing would turn on, then drained about 300 gallons from the spa into the pool. The pool itself didn't need to be lowered.
Opening up the fittings
They cut out the surface around each spa jet and the leaking return, down to where the fitting meets the spa wall. That is where these leaks start, and why epoxy on the surface doesn't last. See why epoxy is not a permanent fix.
Sealing and patching
Each fitting was sealed with hydraulic cement, then the crew patched the plaster around it. We do our best to match the color and texture, but a new patch will always show a little.
Refilling
The spa could be refilled right away, and the crew cleaned up before leaving.
