Day one: a new skimmer
The crew cut out the concrete around the skimmer and removed the old one. They installed a new skimmer, reconnected the plumbing and rebuilt the skimmer throat where it meets the pool wall, sealing it with hydraulic cement.
Re-plumbing the main drain line
The main drain line had broken close to the surface under the deck, right next to the skimmer. The crew cut out the broken section and re-plumbed the main suction line.
Day two: finishing and testing
On the second day the crew finished the skimmer throat with a plaster patch, pressure tested the re-plumbed main drain line to make sure it held, and backfilled both areas.
A new check valve
The crew also replaced a check valve at the equipment. Then they cleaned up the work area, and the pool was ready to top off the next day.
