Shutting down and draining
The crew stopped the pump at the control panel and neutralized the chlorine before draining. The water drained more than 10 feet from the pond and filtered through the grass. The pool came down about halfway so the fitting could be reached.
Removing the broken fitting
The crew chipped out the finish around the return and removed the broken wall fitting.
Installing the new fitting
A new wall fitting was installed and connected to new plumbing, then the surface was patched around it.
Refilling the pool
The equipment went back on its normal schedule with the skimmer valve closed until the pool is full. The crew also noted that the equipment area was tight to reach, which is worth knowing for future service.
