Draining the pool and spa
The crew neutralized the chlorine, then drained the spa and pool, about 5,000 gallons, to get to the cracks.
Opening up the cracks
They chipped out the plaster and tile around each crack so the repair bonds to solid shell, not to the old finish.
Stitching with anchors
Crack anchors, also called pool staples, were installed across the cracks and set in epoxy. They tie the two sides of a crack together so it can't keep spreading.
Sealing with hydraulic cement
The crew then sealed the repairs with hydraulic cement and cleaned up the job site.
This was the first part of the job. The crew is coming back to finish the surface, so the pool should not be refilled yet. See how we repair pool cracks.
