Shutting down safely
The crew closed the skimmer, left the main drain open and turned the power off at the switch before starting. The power stayed off for the whole repair.
Draining the pool
The pool was drained so the crew could work on the floor around the drain.
Drain prep and demo
The crew taped off the drain grate and cut out the old finish around the drain body, down to solid material.
The patch
They patched the surface around the drain so it seals tight to the pool floor. We do our best to match the finish, but a patch will always show a little.
Refilling
When the patch was done, an autofill was set up to bring the pool back up, with the power still off at the switch until it's full.
